Hotels in New York City are notoriously expensive. You can easily pay $500 for a small hotel room in Manhattan. And I mean tiny, I’ve stayed in city hotels that weren’t much bigger than a closet. Space is at a premium in New York. In other cities you could get a room three times bigger for 10 times cheaper. But then, of course, I wouldn’t be in New York City. They can charge high prices because the biggest city in the world is worth staying in.

What is the most expensive hotel room in Manhattan?

Well, there may be a more expensive room available somewhere, but the most expensive room I can find is at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Columbus Circle (in the lower west corner of Central Park). $1,185/night. I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t have the cash to pay for a hotel at $1,185/night! It amazes me that people can spend so much money just on a hotel room for one night. You can imagine the big businessmen staying in these kinds of places.

What is the cheapest hotel room in Manhattan?

I will exclude hostels and any other places where you have to share a bathroom. I’m only considering actual hotel rooms, which at least have their own bathroom! Unbelievably, even places where you have to share a bathroom are over $100 in Manhattan! The cheapest room I can find that has its own bathroom in Manhattan is at the Hotel La Semana, which is at 25 West 24th Street. It is currently $189/night!
