The wealth creation process, while not that easy, is pretty straightforward. Anyone who simply follows the basic principles of wealth building is sure to get rich.

There are four basic principles for creating and maintaining wealth. These are:

I. Give ii. Savings iii. Investment iv. Spending wisely

It is very important that we teach our children these principles of creating and sustaining wealth. If our children start practicing them now, they will get rich early enough and will be able to pass those wealth-building habits on to their own children as well.

Every time we (or our children) get money, the first thing we must do is give at least ten percent of the money. Christians call this tithe, but not only do Christians give a minimum of ten percent of any money they receive. Muslims also give Zakat while others give directly to the needy or to charity.

All of God’s creations must give to be blessed. When we give, we receive great blessings. Therefore, it is safe to say that when we give, we give for our own good because God’s word in the Bible says:

‘Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed, beaten and overflowing, will be poured into your lap … (Luke 6:38)

Some people think that what they have is so little that they cannot get it out. Some even think they are too poor to give; this is not true. In fact, the less you have, the more you have to give. Why? This is because the poorer a person is, the more they need the blessing, and the blessing comes from giving.

It is not just money that we give to God. You can also give your time and talents to care for those in need. For example, you can volunteer your time, talent, or energy to help out at a charity house. God wants us to love and help people. When we take our ten percent to our places of worship, we are giving it to God. However, God does not physically come down to take the money, but His people in our places of worship (pastors, ministers, missionaries, evangelists, etc.) work to carry out God’s plan here on earth. They use the money to care for those in need and to teach people about God’s fantastic message. They spread the word of God.

God gives us life, talents, and time so that we can give our time, energy, and talents to help people. For example, if you know how to draw, you can donate by making posters or drawing to decorate the walls of orphanages or charitable homes. These pictures can also be given to sick children in hospitals to cheer them up.

How can you use your energy? You can help older people run errands or chores. You can also help clean your place of worship on Saturday when you are not going to school.

So, start giving and start building your wealth (smile) Let me stop here until the next time we continue to talk about the principles of wealth creation. To your lasting wealth!
