Many people who had set their goals fail to achieve them. Why is this so? This is because most people thought that setting goals is a very simple process. What most people don’t realize is that setting goals is more than just writing them down. If you are serious about setting goals and really want to achieve them, I urge you to follow these 3 easy steps right after setting your goals.

1. Write your goals on a piece of paper and then post them somewhere you will see them often. If you do this, you will remind yourself that you still have a mission to accomplish in your life. However, this is what most people never do, and this is why they fail to achieve their goals. Many people are afraid of letting others know about their goals. If you are committed and if you are serious about achieving your goals, then do this.

2. Build momentum and maintain momentum. The moment you set your goals, you are in a state of excitement. And since achieving your goals is exciting, you need to take at least 3 action steps toward your goals within 72 hours of setting your goals. By doing so, you will build initial momentum. After that, take a few action steps toward your goals every day to keep that momentum going. Doing so will keep you motivated all the time to take the necessary action.

3. Join a group of experts and share your goals with the group. You have to do this, if you don’t you will lose the momentum that will keep you moving. A think tank is simply a group of people who share the same goals and objectives. Share your thoughts and improve yourself from this group of experts, you will be motivated by hearing the success stories of others. With the advancement of the internet, you can now simply join a group of experts online. With an online community such as groups, discussion boards, forums, and many more, this is the intellectual group to be involved with.

By following these 3 easy steps after you have set your goals, your goal achievement percentage will be much higher. I cannot guarantee that you will achieve your goals, but by doing so you are definitely increasing the likelihood of achieving them. After all, your future is in your hands and you can choose to make your goals come true or give up and live a mediocre life.
