Week 1 (after hospital discharge) –

· One should stay indoors and not engage in too many activities that may require stamina and energy. Stairs can be avoided and, if necessary, climbed with many landings, but they should not be mounted more than two floors. At any time, if you experience symptoms similar to those you had before your heart attack, you should stop all activity completely and consult your doctor before placing half a tablet of sorbitate 5 mg under the tongue (especially if there is heaviness in the chest).

· A bath can be taken daily, but extremely hot water should be avoided even in winter.

· Daily household activity is allowed, but heavy objects should not be carried.

· Plenty of rest is recommended; one can read books, watch TV, chat with friends and family.

· Meals should be small in portions and taken at frequent intervals. Walking immediately after meals is not recommended. In addition, it is better to avoid straining when defecating.

week 2

One can start venturing out of the house, taking short walks in the garden or on the street, doing a little cooking and other light household chores.

week 3 and 4

· Daily walks are now possible, beginning with half-mile walks that could be extended to two miles over the next fortnight.

· Driving is still not recommended.

· One can join the position if disturbing symptoms do not persist.

· IN TMT (Street test) is recommended for the next action plan. A negative TMT test result indicates that there is no need for angiography.

week 5

Full activity can usually be resumed based on your body’s ability to adjust without undue strain or shortness of breath.

Other activities

sexual intercourse

After four weeks, sexual activity can be resumed. In case this causes chest pain or shortness of breath, a doctor should be consulted.

drive and travel

One can drive after four weeks. However, air travel can only be considered safe after six weeks.

worrisome symptoms

Watch out for the following symptoms to take immediate action:

Heaviness in the chest, pain similar to a heart attack, especially one brought on by minimal exertion or discomfort in the middle of the night, gas, rising wind, unusual sweating, or rapid thumping in the chest.

If any of the above symptoms occur, see a doctor immediately. Some remedial measures one can take at home would include putting half a tablet of sorbitate 5mg gold distressed gold tablet puff gtn under the tongue The same exercise can be repeated after an interval of 5 minutes or so. If there is difficulty in breathing, one needs to take a tablet of Lasix CALL FOR HELP.
